The second largest park in Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park offers very diverse kinds of nature to watch wildlife in.
Our first encounter with Queen Elizabeth was after we just entered the area after a long day drive from the north of the country. Huge black silhouets were moving to our right, and it was soon obvious what we were dealing with. Elephants! A herd was eating grass, and two of them were in a playful mood and crossed the street, where they appeared to be mating. After that first dusk encounter, we would see many more elephants in this area. The next morning, we went for a game drive, and saw a lot of elephants, bucks, warthogs, and other animals, but unfortunately not the big cats we had hoped to see.
