If you ever wondered where the word geyser comes from, your answer lies in Iceland, where you can find Geysir. In fact, you can find more examples of geothermic activity in the area.
First, there was the smell of rotten eggs; shortly thereafter, the sight of steam blowing over the landscape. I knew I had arrived and parked my car to visit the Geysir area.
