Everywhere on the streets of Cap Haïtien, you can see people trying to scratch a living and earn some small money. It only adds to the admiration one must feel for Haitians working hard for very little.
You can find open-air markets in many countries, and Haiti is no exception to that. While they are certainly interesting to see and visit, it is striking how many people are selling something in the streets, outside the regular markets. In Cap Haïtien, this means you can buy almost anything from any place in the streets without having to go to the real market. Many vendors actively roam the streets with their wares, offering them to passer-bys, going to crowded places like crossings or the bus station where they can find more potential customers.
