The colourful centre of Lisbon is a great start for exploring this attractive capital, go shopping or having a drink in one of its bars.
From here, it is a short hop to the Rossio, a popular square where traffic circulates around the central area which is a masterpiece of Portuguese squares. Spacious, well-equilibrated with fountains, the typical Portuguese mozaical pavement depicting waves and giving it a certain dynamism, the national theatre, train station and several bars and restaurants. This is the place where many people meet, the Baixa quarter lies at your feet. It is difficult to imagine that this square has been used, among other things, for bull fights.
