Harar has many sights, but one of the main attractions is the people you meet on the streets, the scenes unfolding before your eyes, the fantastic light of the early morning.

Especially impressive is the meat market, with vultures on the roof waiting to scavenge on leftovers, cows heads carelessly left behind on the pavement, cats on the lookout to steal a piece of meat. In the evening, the main spectacle is the famous hyena man, who publicly feeds pieces of meat to the hyenas living just outside Harar.
