The central area of Rome is so full of sights, that it is most convenient to explore the city on foot. The famed fountains by Bernini on the Piazza Navona are perhaps the most important sights on the square. The central fountain is topped by an obelisk, each figure representing one of the four main rivers of the world. The other two fountains are also decorated with elegant statues.
