It is difficult to travel around Thailand without seeing fishermen - apart from the sea surrounding it on many sides, fishermen also hunt in the rivers of the interior.
But you might also come across fisherman while walking on the beach. After mooring their boats, they get their fish out, get their nets arranged, clean them, repair them, and prepare them for the next catch. Or, walking in a village, you might see their wives getting the fish out of the nets, or repairing them, scrubbing them and folding them to get ready for the next time their husband takes them to the sea.
