San Francisco, city of bridges, Chinatown, Alcatraz, a lively atmosphere, and fog.
Another obvious sight is the former Alcatraz prison, from which no one escaped alive. This seems improbable, but the waters surrouding it are just too cold for a human to survive. Then (at least at the time of my visits), it was also possibile to visit Pier 39, which at the time contained a huge number of sea lions playing around in the waters (yes, they are suited to swim in that same sea!). Another option is to just stroll around the city centre, take a cable car, go to Chinatown, or climb one of the steep streets.
