Haitians are famous for their painting skills; you can enjoy them even without going to a gallery: you can find many examples by looking around in the streets.
From the very first day we arrived in Haiti, we were aware that there was a lot of street art to be seen everywhere. Not only are tap-taps painted in bright colours and with original decorations, also street signs can represent almost anything. An announcement for a band performing can result in a splendid mural in a street, which would not be out of place in a museum or gallery. The art can be naive and sometimes absurd, and reminds at times of Dalí, the famous Spanish painter.
