Charming old streets and alleys, shops and restaurants, views of Stockholm harbour, Gamla Stan is deservedly one of the primary attractions of the Swedish capital.
A visitor can easily spend hours walking the alleys, crossing the squares, walking along the shores, having a drink in one of the many bars. Even so, Gamla Stan is actually just a small island in the middle of Stockholm, and without stopping, it would take not more than 20 minutes to walk across. Fortunately, there are many things to see. The Royal Palace, withh its guards closely watching visitors, several churches, squares, statues, and apart from that, all kinds of shops.
