One of the many beaches of Jamaica, Frenchman's Cove could well be among the most beautiful. Small and well protected, it has a very pretty natural setting.
Walking towards the beach through the forest, we passed a small river before reaching the beach proper. A horseshoe shaped little bay with a quite narrow opening into the sea, friendly waves lapping onto the beach but wilder ones in a distance. White sand blinded us, and we quickly got rid of our shirts and shorts, left our stuff behind, and ran into the inviting sea. For quite a while, the sea was shallow, but walking further in, it was more rough and there was a pretty strong current. The drop-off is quite drastic, and the waves become progressively higher here. Great to dive into and play with the waves as they roll in.
