Copenhagen is inevitably linked to the water around it, and strolling along the waterfront takes you to many picturesque corners of the city.
I did some backtracking towards the sea, always walking along the waterfront, and it took me past Nyhavn (new harbour) to finally arrive at what for some reason has developed into the symbol of Copenhagen: the Little Mermaid. Sculpted after a story of one of the famous Danes, Hans Christian Andersen, the mermaid is so small that the group of Chinese tourists that was flocking around her for picture poses, came in handy to locate it.
