A long-time crossroads for travellers between East and West, Baku still carries the reminders of its history as a meeting and trading point.
Another mandatory visit is the market, which anyway is one of my favourite places to taste the local life. It is interesting to see the local produce, fruit, vegetables, meat, and fish. Often, goods are on sale also in the streets, when cars serve as mobile market stalls. Foreigners are not very common in this overlooked country.
